“It’s been a great year filled with constant change and opportunity. I am excited about the new team we have built with new members including Luci, Justin and Wayne. I am also excited about our continued focus in data analytics with the aim to deliver the best service to our customers and partners.
As we move into the new year, we intend to enhance our analytics services and continue building the Metric Labs team. We are in a great position to be the industry leader in data analytics and I am super excited to see this vision come to life in the nearby future.”
– Our director, Vincent!
Q: What challenges have we overcome this year?
Dom: The challenge of the year has likely been Google themselves and keeping atop all the changes being made to Google Analytics 4. The platform is constantly shifting and evolving as we use it, only sometimes does it make sense.
Q: What new skills did you learn? What is new in your field this year?
Dom: A lot of the new skills this year have revolved around Google Analytics 4. Whenever there’s a new platform, there’s a lot of small technical details to learn as well as new concepts to learn and old ones to unlearn.
Q: How would you describe this year in 3 to 5 keywords?
Dom: The only constant is change
Sorry I don’t do keyword research ( yeah HAHAHA Dom )
Q: What challenges have we overcome this year?
Olivia: A constantly altering platform! Facebook has gone through many major and minor changes this year that have forced us to adapt and stay on top of the trends in order to not fall behind. From updates in tracking, to new AI suggestions for creatives, we had to make sure that clients were being given the latest information while learning it ourselves.
Q: What new skills did you learn? What is new in your field this year?
Olivia: We kept up with a bunch of updates in Ads Manager (as well as the general change from ‘Facebook’ to ‘Meta’) including how to optimise based on the new algorithms and AI. We also branched out to LinkedIn this year, and took a look at Pinterest and TikTok marketing – hopefully we’ll be able to dive more into the latter two and they gain more popularity over the next year!
Q: How would you describe this year in 3 to 5 keywords?
Olivia: Chaotic, ever-changing, opportunity-providing
Q: What challenges have we overcome this year?
Justin: Similar to social, Google Ads is a constantly shifting platform. We have had several changes this year such as a shift towards Performance Max but we have managed to conduct market research to adapt.
Q: What new skills did you learn? What is new in your field this year?
Justin: I’ve learnt so many new skills from my few months working here. From learning how to make campaigns, keywords and ads to improving my presentation and communication skills with clients.
Q: How would you describe this year in 3 to 5 keywords?
Justin: Great and fun learning experience
Q: What challenges have we overcome this year?
Stephen: Learning to maximize ROI on lean marketing spend while turbulent market conditions push increased competitiveness.
Q: What new skills did you learn? What is new in your field this year?
Stephen: The true benefit of ‘adding value’ in content creation and its organic performance. SEO is a vital component to secure ensuring a resilient business in these times.
Q: How would you describe this year in 3 to 5 keywords?
Stephen: Kinetic, Topsy Turvy, Magical, Other-Worldly
Q: What challenges have we overcome this year?
Mark: A major change was Google’s announcement that UA will sunset from July 2023. This has meant a major transition for many organisations in a relatively short period of time.
Ensuring we’re on top of best practices in an ever changing analytics landscape is something the team should be very proud of.
Q: What new skills did you learn? What is new in your field this year?
Mark: It has been important for me to deepen my knowledge of analytics and how data can be interpreted to help organisations make better decisions along with other marketing channels.
Q: How would you describe this year in 3 to 5 keywords?
Mark: Fun learning journey
