New Tag Diagnostics Update

Google has introduced two new diagnostics in the Tag Diagnostics tool within the Google tag settings:

  • Tag has stopped sending data: This diagnostic appears when the Google tag has not sent data in the last 48 hours. To resolve the issue, users should use Tag Assistant to verify that the tag is properly installed on every page of the website.
  • Tag found too low on the page: This diagnostic is triggered when Google detects that tags are placed too far down the page. Improper tag placement can delay loading and activation, potentially leading to signal loss and impacting website measurement. To address this, users should adjust the tags to a higher position.

Additionally, Google has introduced the new tag quality status, No recent data, which appears when the Google tag hasn’t been detected in the past 48 hours. If this status is shown, users are encouraged to review their setup.
