Facebook Metrics

Video plays

Definition: Video plays counts the number of times a video is started to play. This metric counts each impression of a video and excludes replays.

How it’s used: Video plays is a metric counting a video play after an impression for the video is counted. Video plays are considered when a video plays automatically or because someone clicked on it to play. Replays are not counted, such as when someone pauses and starts playing a video again.

If an ad format has multiple videos, such as a carousel ad, video plays are counted separately for each video shown.
