Facebook Metrics

Cost per 1,000 people reached

Definition: CPM, or cost per thousand (the M is for the roman numeral for thousand) indicates the average cost to reach 1000 people on Facebook

How it’s used: CPM is a performance measurement that is used by digital marketers to evaluate a campaign’s cost-efficiency and value.

Reach on Facebook can be more insightful than impressions, as it gives a measurement of the number of people exposed to an ad and how efficiently they were reached. An ad’s bid performance in the ad auction, campaign budget and the effectiveness of audience targeting.
