3-second video views

Definition: 3-second video views counts the number of times a video was played for at least three seconds or its total length if the video is shorter than three seconds. Video views are counted separately from each impression of the video and any time spent replaying the video is excluded.

How it’s used: 3-second video views counts the number of times a video is played for 3 seconds or, if it’s shorter than 3 seconds, for 97% of its total length. Any time spent replaying the video for a single impression is not included.

e.g. if someone plays a 2-second video for 1.94 seconds this will count as a 3-second video view. If someone plays a 4-second video for 2 seconds, then rewinds the video and rewatches the first 2 seconds, this does not count as a 3-second video view because replays are excluded.
